Cooking every meal while in lockdown can sometimes feel like a chore rather than a joy. Thinking of culinary choices while also trying to use everything I have in stock (to avoid shopping). I have loved every recipe I have tried from Hetty McKinnon, who I first discovered when she started Arthur Street Kitchen (website here). Relocating from Sydney to New York, Hetty publishes food magazine Peddler (journal here) and hosts its podcast The House Specials. Her latest cookbook To Asia, With Love is an ode to her childhood that celebrates modern Asian food. Her noodle dishes are easy to follow, using simple ingredients I already have in my fridge and pantry. Soy sauce chow mein has been a favourite as well as the delicious life-changing udon (recipe here).
